Any preferable dates in Sept/Oct?

It'll be a camping barn rather than a proper bothy, got a couple of places in mind but depends on numbers and availability.
Possibly in the peaks or Forest of Dean, these aren't set in stone but it won't be in Lincolnshire, thats for certain.

Half term is the last week in Oct so I'm told thats out too.

would a "camping barn" mean it has a proper loo? Not sure if my 2 are a bit young for doing what bears do etc.

Ones got running water and an outside loo, the others got central heating.
The central heating one is looking less likely.

Peaks is fine forest of dean is just as good if not a slightly better option

Not sure how you run these type of rides. Do you all ride from a start point somewhere, head to the overnight spot then head back to cars next day?
If so, I have acess to an open field shelter (3 sides, roof and hayloft, may smell of horses a bit!) with water, loo, and even a shower and plenty of room for bivvy pitches. I can move the horses to another field so no unexpected visitors. Except maybe deer or boar. Or maybe badgers. Only downside is the cockrel starts crowing at about 04.30!! Would need to bung the landowner a couple of quid each. On edge of FoD and Wye Valley.

i'd be up for something the october half term week (27 - 31 of october around these parts).

I have my two over the weekend 25/26 and then for the week until they go to their dad's on the Friday - not sure if everyone's half term week is the same though. Would be wise to look into that sooner rather than later as i guess it is a time it may get booked up

Struggling to find suitable "bothy" and date.

Up int lakes mungrisdale and greystoke villages have halls that can be rented for overnight occupation. Same with Edale village hall. Would guess there's many others that do it too...
