so I can boil up (inc coffee tub if needed) on the 450ml, pour into a non-lip burning 350ml cup, drink a coffee while another 450ml boils and use that for food. Noodles or porridge, supplemented with garage supplies. Road trip luxuries with better time efficiency, if that is any concern : )

At the bottom of the 450ml cup is the essential rag for space filling, rattle reductions and mess / soot wiping. By the end of a week's trip it's a sight to see ..

Thanks to Ray Young for the coffee tub idea - got some 30ml tubs on ebay, map-pin holes work well and it takes less coffee to make a stronger brew. Better than my drip-filter .. try using that with one cup
Will work with the 600ml Mytimug pretty well too, take both smaller cups or just the 450ml. Fit's not quite as neat, but still useful.

Jesus ... what blunt instrument did you stab those jets in with? It wasn't an Ikea knife and fork was it?

I'd already pressed it together with 8 holes before realising it burned like a duff catherine wheel so I had to add 8 more, then 8 more .. small stoves are tricky aren't they? Prob lost 15% of the vapour volume by indents alone.
It works pretty efficiently and I have 1 more 5ml bottle to try again, if I can be @rsed.. need some small drill bits for the Dremel really. I'd buy a proper one but i do like procrastinating in the garage when there's spreadsheets on the to-do list.

Like that, what did you find the plastic lid from, I'm assuming it snaps on.

Lid's from a 170g Bisto gravy granules tub, good fit over the approx 78mm dia mug. Orange lid with chicken, brown with beef. If you're picky : )
I think pet food can covers from ebay would fit the larger 450ml mug, just need to check mug size vs a std food can.

Good stuff. I have a similar system but using a cheap plastic camping mug with the handle cut off. I prefer that to drinking from titanium.

The coffee tins are really good. Tricky thing is getting it to sink, small holes that don't let the coffee out also don't let air out very fast so it needs a stir. Pouring a little water onto the coffee before shutting the tin helps (yes, I've been making morning brews with it.. )
Ti does have a slightly odd taste, if this works out I may use the trimmed plastic cup idea. This was partly an excuse to have more ti cup options depending on the trip/packing etc : )
