Fixing small holes in dry bags

Every dry bag I have has a small hole or 3 now .. nothing that will let average rain in but got me thinking about sloshing some sealant round in it and inflating it to seal the holes, stopped myself before I made a mess though. Any other ideas that work? Park Patches for inner tubes seem like the next best thing, or a dab of seam-grip.

If they're silnylon then nothing will stick except silicone ... a piece of sil as a patch and sil-net as adhesive will work.

If they're something else (Alpkit Airlok Xtra as an example) then I patch mine with 'scabs' self ahesive tube repair patches. Tenacious tape works well too.

That's what I do. I've patched some quite large holes that way.

Thanks - seam grip for now and patches in the toolkit for when away.

Maybe give tenacious tape a try?

I was concerned about these little buggers too, but have found that small holes are not a problem unless you're after "full immersion waterproofness"

Yeah, they hardly let water in during real downpours even with 4-6 small holes (like last weekend, a few hrs in that rain and kit stayed dry enough) but some contents seem to pull a little dampness in there.

Found some tent repair tape by 'Kampa' in the local outdoors shop, works really well. Like a roll of thin Park patch tape. £5 for enough to fix a near-lifetime of holes. Chap there said gorrila tape works well enough but the Kampa tape seals well and is clear.

I've fixed several with Park Patches and they've held for well over a year of use since then.

I've a groundsheet and a dry bag that I've used sail repair tape on. It seems to be holding ok.
