Bottle cage position

Post by composite »

Not so long ago someone mentioned a "bracket" that would lower the position of the bottle cage on the frame. Any ideas what that was?

I had one made for the downtube. Worked well but was a sniff thin for standard bolts

Was considering making a small batch if down tube ones if there was enough interest. Got the price to £24 each but waiting on a price from china.

I lowered the price a little by going to 6085 al instead of 7075, it's not as stiff but calcs show it's fine with the increased thickness

Have been running a homemade version all year so far.. A strip of plastic with 3 holes drilled in, cage goes on bottom two, and lower one is threaded. Not enough thickness to have strength, so just cable tied the bottom of the strip to the downtube.
Made as a template to check hole spacing to lower down tube bottle so it fills that wasted gap at the bottom, has worked so well I never got round to making an Aluminium one.
Cheap and simple.
