Breathing

Yeah, I know it sounds easy ... I've been reading Mr Orbrees training book in which he devotes a chapter to breathing. His theory is pretty detailed but one thing he talks about is learning to breath in through your nose and mouth at the same time. I tried it today and thought my lungs were going to explode, ended up in a coughing fit with snot everywhere :-bd

Can anyone do it?

Never tried until just now, but yes.

I will try on the bike later.

Does he mention smoking a rollie before jumping on the bike as well?

You know Kenny Gee, the saxophone bloke? Well, he used to hold the world record for the longest held note on a sax using the circular breathing technique. In through the nose and out through the mouth at the same time for 45 minutes. Impressive, but he lost the record to someone called Geovanny Escalante who held a note for, wait for it, one hour and 32 minutes, which is a long time. I know nothing about this Escalante fella except he is from Costa Rica. Can't see him topping Kenny for image though.

Having had a didjeridu for a while I did manage to (just about) get the hang of circular breathing but this seems a bit different.

Oh, I don't know.

Stu, did you notice that if you squint a little bit, and turn the lights down, he looks exactly like you ...... just saying.

Was about to mention about circular breathing and a dig. I had the playing technique down but my circular breathing was a bit hit and miss. :???:

back on topic (sorry)

no. I cant do it.
I have consistently swollen pollips or some other bullsh1t.
I've had my nasal passage lasered out 3 times and it always goes back to me with my gob hanging open on the climbs and about 2% airflow up my hooter.
Damed things big enough, you'd think some air could pass through it,
