Possibles.

Crank / BB interface.
BB in the frame.
BB itself ... ie it's shot.
Rear hub ... but it wouldn't be the first place I'd look.
Bars / stem.

Another one to throw into the mix is the pedals. (Recent experience of this  )

Given we have entered a period of dry weather I would look for things that should be greased but are not.

On one bike dry QR give those symptoms each year in summer.

Worth noting if creak occurs when only in saddle or not.

I put a thin layer over the whole Quick Release Skewer making sure to reach the edges. You can guess at if this is the creak problem if the creak only occurs when you put power thought the pedal and it is an even note regardless of power etc. Creaks that occurs elsewhere often exhibit a level of noise proportionate to the force you put in. On some frames it is really hard to know where the noise comes from as the tubes transport it all around. Experiment with riding out of saddle, little/no force on bars, no force on one foot then other. You might be able to eliminate a factor that gives a strong clue.

I'd expect even a cheap BB to last a good season or a few hundred miles. They often get blamed because there is often a creak just before death. However, creaks can source from almost any part of the bike where two bits of metal could potentially rub against each other.
