I'm a bit late posting this up, but Longstaff Cycles up in Chesterton (near Stoke-on-trent) are putting on a weekend on the art of travelling lightly.



I'll be there on Saturday with as little kit as I think I can get away with to impart what knowledge and experience I have, and then putting it to use on Saturday night at a group bivvy/ camp somewhere in rural Staffordshire.

I'm not, I'm just saying it's a shame.

Well, I suppose your average Longstaff customer is into Audax and road stuff and such like, and as far as I know they've pushed those channels. It didn't really occur to me until the other night that it might have been of interest to anyone on here.

Looking forward to it anyway. If anyone here can make it, then great, though I imagine it being Solstice weekend, people might have more elaborate plans :)

Longstaff are hoping to make this an annual event. It was not on the website (we only have a single page gateway) as it was a first situation and we did not want to be swamped. It was very successful and thanks to all who came and shared knowledge. We tend to use Twitter to get stuff out but will be happy to share on here - as long as it is not construed as commercial. The Less is More weekend include a free Sunday morning breakfast and the only cost was a £5 camp fee. (Oh yes and the beer on the Saturday night) All the guiding, experts and sharing was free. We hope we can keep it that way. Thanks to Ian,(wildcat gear) Christine ( artist on a bike) and long distance tandemists Ian and Clare. All welcome!
