I'd love to give it try, but its unlikely at the price unfortunately.

I saw that. I'd consider something a bit lighter/less insulated as a summer bag.

Someone on here was selling a waterproof sleeping bag a while ago (not one of these). It would be interesting to hear how it worked out.

For £375 it would be wrapped in cotton wool with protection layers all over it. Definitely not left out in the open air!

I've spent a few nights without a bivvy bag or tarp ... and no special bag. I found that in summer any light covering of dew that might form in the early hours is gone by the time you're ready to pack away. Obviously you've got to be pretty cnvinced it's going to remain dry all night

I like mine. Got it for around £330 but think you might manage £300 with a bit of shopping about. Really well constructed and it's cut around the slimmer rather than bigger figure, they've also done a good job in centering the bulk of the down over the torso so it's pretty toasty. I'd be happy sleeping directly on the ground in mine with klymit mat inside the bag. Perfect for use under a tarp but you'd need a head net or similar for midge defence. I have slept out for a couple of nights using just the bag but it was with a very dry forecast.
