I am a winner!

Post by slarge »

Ok, so having never won anything apart from a bottle cage at the Spar n back I entered a competition at work for a VIP trip with team Sky in the run up to the Tour de France. Today I found out I have won a fully supported Sky ride from London to Sheffield over 3 days, with hotels and 3 good meals a day, plus a training assessment and plan and a VIP thing on the first day of the Tour. I am quite chuffed, even if my much better half is "sick of all the bike related talk" I am spouting in the run up to the HTR and now a 3 day holiday. I reckon I can show Bradley a thing or two about how to carry a sleeping bag on the bike, and I will be telling him that if he was a proper cyclist he would be self sufficient on the Tour
(That's if they let him anywhere near us plebs)

Are you going to ride to Sheffield with a loaded bike?

It's tempting to ride my mtb with full bivvy kit, bivvy in the hotel grounds and keep the bike safe in the hotel though :-bd

Will probably be in roadie mode though.....

Nice, congratulations! That'll be a great trip. TdF is best seen from a high col or the VIP and hospitality aspects.. (I've done the cols, no more..)

A lucky week for BBB members? I won a draw at work this week, to ride a 300km audax with 20,000 others in Sweden in 4 weeks with all travel, accom and logistics covered by the organiser. Have to raise min £200 but quite happy to fund that myself. My audax ambitions start a bit earlier than planned..
