I'm setting off for Scotland as soon as the Atlantic Depressions go somewhere else...
Be nice to have a tot of whisky in the evening... especially if they return...
Does anybody carry anything lighter than a stainless steel hip flask ?

There is also a GSI version which is a bit wee-er, though my friend's one leaked after a while...

Plastic water bottle, but then I can only afford the cheap stuff so it doesn't really matter  .

His was from REI but they seem to be discontinued

Go to local supermarket, buy these:

Drink with gin, ice, slice of lime.

Wash out bottles. Save.

Fill with whatever takes you fancy. Carry two if you're thirsty.

Some of the chaps on the WRT were using a meths bottle for carrying whisky, a little squeeze through the spout to dispense. Nifty idea I thought

Alternatively look for small water bottles, like 200-250ml. Robust, light, no flavour leakage

I've got a nalgene one. It breaks down even smaller as you can remove the sleeve and shot cup.

R and R backpacking do the highland flask which is really cool. I got the large one which I use for a 'cough' pee bottle.

A half bottle of whisky fits nicely in a Lucozade bottle (355ml to 350ml) and they weigh nothing.

And it's even the same colour, if you want to drink at sports day!
