Hi all just wonderd if anyone will be camping by Llyn Clywedog res.
I'm planning on finding a spot in the woods, will this be allowed, any rangers patrol, cheers p

You'll be fine, just don't be tempted to camp too low down near the water as it will be bloody freezing, get up higher into the woods.

Yeah, I'll be in that area on Sunday night. I'll probably camp in Hafren Forest or somewhere close by with a view

Good God, don't you all realise wild camping in Wales is against the law?

Anyway, SN 829886 is a nice spot ... turn west off the main N-S track and after 50 yds or so you'll see a clearing on your right which contains Carreg Wen standing stone. Nice and sheltered with a big old downhill in the morning.

I suspect there'll be a few people in the area as its a nice distance to make it back to base in time

If I unroll my camping mat out before you do then I'll snore as much as I like at Llyn Clywedog (famous for it's unique night time echo amplifying effect)
