What a great 23.5 hours.

I left home from Scouseland at 12noon on Saturday and got home at 11.30am today.

My story (shortened) I picked up Mark (Barney) on the Wirral and headed off to meet Jeff (Summittoppler) and Mark (99%chimp) at the arranged car parking spot. Upon arrival we sat out the heavy rain and left in light drizzle.
We rode the long new cycle track towards Newbourgh, upon arrival Jeff's free hub died, Mark (99%chimp) brute force mechanical skills by fixing it with a gentle tap or two. This could have see an end to Jeff's ride but he persisted and many, many times over the 2 days he had to stop for brute force mechanics, but luckily he was fit enough to keep the correct pressure on the pedals to stop it spinning and forcing him a long walk home.
Anyway, the route was muddy, windy (very windy) beach riding, woodland riding, sand dune navigation and mud flat plugging.
We found the perfect spot to pitch tents, got a meal down our necks and after a chat called it a night around 10.45pm.
After a very wet rainy and windy night we packed up and were mobile at 8am, at the cars at 9am and in McDonalds for breakfast (2 of us) at 9.30am.

A great ride with great company, thanks lads

First bivi of the year (what have I been doing!). Few of my pics too... good laugh with the lads and well worth braving the weather (thought about Ian and co. going south into that headwind  ).
