Heading up north in a couple of weeks and will be taking the cross bike. Most of the stuff I know is pretty rocky and more MTB suited. Anyone got a gpx or route of around 40-60 miles within spitting distance of New Mills/Hayfield?
Looking for gravel/easy xc.

Trans Pennines trail, cut gate (carry!) or round on the strines road, round the derwent/ladybower side trails and back on the snake?

I've done similar on CX bike. All very ridable, even cut gate, although that's at the limit of CX bike - for me anyway!

That's perfect. Thank you.

Thanks to Ian too. I'll take a look at the map and come up with something for another ride.

Theres a bit of tarmac in that one, some gravelyish, some 'tracks' and the odd bit of rock thats fairly short lived.

Its a lovely ride out if its good weather. Especially through the goyt

Love the Goyt Valley. It's not somewhere you often hear of when people talk about the Peak District - most favour the Kinder side but I think it's a beautiful part of the Peak, especially in autumn when the leaves on the trees change.

I've ridden the climb out on the road bike before - in fact I had an a bit of an angry ride with the father in law when he took me on the gravel track beside the reservoir with my expensive road wheels whilst he was on his MTB!
