Hi all,
I've been using ergon grips for a while now, and while I like them, I find myself gripping the sides of them so thought I'd give bar ends ago.
I've got the choice down to 2: the cane creek offerings (http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/cane ... wgodRo0AMg)
and the very similar but cheaper sjs bar ends (http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/sjsc-ergo-co ... prod13134/)
At the minute I'm leaning towards the cane creek as they replace the outer lock ring for the grips, but I can't tell if the sjs version replace the lock ring or are in addition to it, which did like to try and avoid.
Has anyone got any info to add to the thought process?
Thanks
Drew

Re: Bar ends
The Cane Creek ones seems expensive until you try them, they really are very good.
Not tried the sjs ones, sorry.

Re: Bar ends
Ergon do several grips with built in bar ends - expensive but worth it. And they clamp onto carbon bars without issue.
Re: Bar ends
Thanks for the reply folks, thinking I'm leaning towards the cane creeks then!
I did look at the ergon bar end versions but they all seem heavy and I think the 'recessed' hand position [if thats the correct word?!] of the cane creek arrangement I think would suit me.
Cheers

Re: Bar ends
I'm running both the cane creeks and the Ergon with bar ends on different bikes.
I really like the cane creek for sure. My review here: http://www.composite-projects.co.uk/201 ... nd-review/
Here is my review for the Ergon. http://www.composite-projects.co.uk/201 ... ds-review/
The funny thing is that my opinion has pretty much reversed after a lot more time using them (guess I should write an update on my blog) and I'm now much happier with the bar end and not so happy with the grip.
I think its the grip that has been giving my some numb little finger problems. I guess that bit doesn't really matter to you though if you are happy with the grips.

Re: Bar ends
Composite, I tried a set of those Ergons, but pefer the slightly longer bar end ones (GS2?) which I always use for long rides. They also do a longer still bar end version.
Re: Bar ends
A friend uses these from Giant, broadly similar to the Cane Creek, but half the price: http://bit.ly/1l7BIxV
I've used the Ergon grips with the bar ends built-in and liked them, though sometimes they made my hands feel a bit trapped / hemmed in for some reason...
