For anyone who'd like a Fargo but can't run to the asking price how about one of these instead? ... cheap Kona Sutra frames at CRC, how cheap? £130 cheap!

Fair enough the Fargo doesn't have sliding dropouts but apart from that I'm not seeing too many differences ... could be a nice cheap way of putting together a dedicated bikepacking 29er

Wonder what size tyre you can get in the frame, the full bike is 700x32. The 26.8mm seatpost is a pain too, but that price is so good.

On the Radnor Ring trip Alex was running 26" wheels in his ... looked dead right too.

That's a bargain, the complete ones were £1100 new back in 2006
Seatpost should be 27.2, that's what's in mine. Max tyre size is 42mm with not a lot of space to spare. I hacked the front mech braze-on off mine and use a proper clamp on mech now.

Gotta admit I quite liked the look of Alex's bike on the Radnor Ring, except for the diameter of the wheels. It looked in proportion and everything, but with narrower tyres on I think 26" wheels would give a bit too "trail feedback"

I'm not sure why Alex had fitted 26" wheels, the last time I saw him the bike was running 700c ... my plan is 700c with biggish cross tyres.
