Ti bolts

Post by Gari »

Anyone know of a good source for Ti bolts? Anodized Ali in a pinch. I want to tidy up the bike/s as the current ones are a little corroded and I figure Ti would be less prone to oxidisation in the climate we get up here. Stem, Seatpost etc, usual suspects really.
Thanks

Part of Superstar Components. Make of that what you will :)

Just a word of warning, make sure you have allen keys that fit really well, otherwise they will round out the inside and you'll have to drill them out. Speaking from experience here. Also, torque wrench reduces risk of this happening.

xcracer.com also has Ti bolts - may be better than superstar (never had any superstar ones so have nothing to compare to). I only use Ti for brakes and steering.

For non stressed bolts get some ally ones off ebay (in a variety of colours and around 1/10 of the cost) (clamps, bottle cage mounts)

Have a look at www.tastynuts.com too. They all seem to be a good fit for my normal allen keys.

Uberbike do them as well. Use something to stop them galling. I bought some goop by finish line. Looks an awful lot like regular coppaslip!
