How very annoying, I was looking forward to it but it's the same weekend as a 12hour race I'm already signed up to. The 12hour is on the day before though, theoretically I could do both.

Gonna sign up for that this evening. Pretty close to me.

Went to SSUK organised by CTBM last year and it was ace. Sadly I think this is another event I'm going to miss out on : (

I just wish it was closer to home, I was single, more free time on my hands, a wife who liked to camp, a wife that would come and watch (the start and finish) and kill time for the rest of the weekend.

Already got a family weekend up in the Lakes booked for that weekend, shame as my mum lives on the South Coast the other side of Bournmouth so would have been ideal (to abandon the wife and kids there and go off riding  )

Well I've entered, thanks for the heads up.

Now I've got to work on the pass from the missus nearer the time

Nice one, the Dorset Gravel Dash is now on the list of possibilities, does anyone know if the race gets over subscribed ?

First time it's been held Andy so who knows. I think SSUK gets pretty busy though.

Hmm I'm considering sacking off the 12 hour and doing this instead. I have also been single speed curious for a while as my P7 has sliding drop outs. Maybe this could be the push.

I guess though if you are there for the gravel dash and you end up going for a burn with some single speeders on the Saturday on your geared bike no one is really going to care?

Do it. It's a lovely part of the world. Better than doing laps for 12 hours too.

I'm gonna ride there the day before, camp, do the dash, then ride home. I guess us lot (I just tried to form a collective noun for members of this forum, it didn't sound too good) can meet up before/after too.

Also in the 12hr the day before.

Also going to cancel it in preference to this.

Also discussing with chrisn about a ride in from my house ~25miles away.

I missed the SSUK13 gathering so really keen to get to this.

I wonder if I can borrow my SS Swift back off the bloke I sold it to last summer

You'll be ok on a geared bike on the Saturday, but only if you disconnect the gear cables so that you can't shift :YMDEVIL: .

Thinking of going to this, for SS day and then the gravel 100 on the same bike, take a tent or tarp etc. Sounds like a good social. I don't drive tho so does anyone want/could tolerate a lift-cost share if you're passing M25 J21 / Hemel Hemsted area? Could train/ride out to other areas in the SE, or Milton Keynes etc. Will bring Sat night tipples and fuel £.

Good chance I could pick you up on my way from Northants, just waiting on response from others, which doesn't help if your sitting on the fence about entering.

No probs, thanks. Let me know and if there's places left for either I'll enter.

I'm considering it Chew, but I'm just not sure I can get that far for a weekend :/
