Picked up a set of their MKM 35 Rigid forks for c.£90 in the sale. Seemed rude not to and all fits with my grand plans of parts swopping to build up another 29r frame.

Just wondered if anyone had any significantly cheaper options or experience of them? For the price in the sale they seemed a no-brainer but suppose I might as well ask if they're likely to make me a no-brainer

Went for tapered as well, first time I've ever bought forks with one of these new-fangled standards

Looking at the pics they look identical to eXotics, so they'll be fine. I actually prefer them to the round legged On-One carbon forks.

I forgot the Scandal I'm going to put the rigids on has an Angleset and runs a 1&1/8th fork. I'm embarassed to be so ignorant but it was secondhand and wasn't something I'd ever really taken on board / had to work with as it was in when delivered and I just threw the other bits on . Plan is to take the sus forks off this for new frame and replace with rigids. So, then (bit late) I started thinking about headsets.

New frame is different headset standard to Scandal and doesn't need an Angleset, although it does need an adapter to run the skinny steerer'd forks. I realised I either need to buy a new headset for the Scandal to fit the tapered rigids or ring On One again and ask them to change the order to 1&1/8th steerer version as well as buy a new headset for new frame.

Have decided to save some pennies and change the rigids. Sean at On One was excellent and sorted it no worries. I know sometimes folks bitch about OO but they've been spot on everytime I've had to deal with them (I may have changed another order yesterday ). So, I still haven't moved into the modern age and got some tapered forks

New frame is a Titus Fireline. I have a hard-on for Ti (it's better to be honest than wax lyrical about it )and liked 29r so much that with the OO sales it seemed a shame not to. Rear tyre clearance is a bugbear but I think it'll be OK.

Scandal will get lightened up with the cheap and easy option of some rigid forks (and then possibly heavied by an Alfine 8).

Also bought the tapered on-ones a few weeks ago, happy with them so far, was looking for a 15mm rigid but hard to find without spending £££££ on Niner's.

Any update on how these forks are? I'm thinking of getting some and wondered how much flex is in them? Can you feel every bump or do they take out some of the surface chatter?
