Probably a question Stu can answer but open to all.

I currently have a terra nova comp 1 tarp and am thinking of buying a rab silwing for the following reasons.
1. If I have the Terra tarp set high enough to sit under then the gap at each side is quite big and I feel exposed to the elements.
2. I'm not always happy with the Terra tarp in high winds as I never seem to get all parts pitched taught.
3. I think I'd like a bit more space.
I know the silwing weighs more and is not as flexible but is it worth the £72 Inc p/p investment? Thanks.

The Silwing is a good tarp but as you say, you're limited to what it can do ... you can set it high or low and that's it really. ID do say that there's other pitching options which there are but in reality you wouldn't want to use them
If you always set your tarp as a A frame then the Silwing could be a good choice (it's possible to set the front high and the back low, so space to sit and cook + a very sheltered sleeping spot further back). It's easy to pitch taught and it's very stable ... but if you want something with a few more options I'd maybe look elsewhere.
Something like the Rig7 opens up a whole world of playing about

and the new tarp from Borah Gear (the Borahgami) looks intersting:

EDIT: something else that's just sprung to mind is a BPWD canopy tent. The 2 would give you loads of space and if you added a clip-on vestibule, full protection:
