Is anybody else watching these pages? Because the routes don't look the same!

Re: Bear Bones 200 Tracking Page
They're both on the same route ... I think the different tracking sites may be distorting things slightly. Ians certainly put the hammer down, a black badge perhaps?

Still going strong at 8,22 interested to see when Ian stops. Thought you might have been out part way round the route s8tannorm taking pics or checking on their progress.

First Back ... Nostoc and Ian at 3.28am
205km in 17h 23m!
Weathers turned overnight so if anyone has the high mountain pass to make this morning it'll be interesting.

I'm loving the tracking, couldn't stop check how they are getting on. Well done chaps good job
BIKE RACING IS LIKE HAVING A MULLET, BUSINESS UP THE FRONT, PARTY IN THE BACK…!!!
Re: Bear Bones 200 Tracking Page
Well done to all that did it! Should the top riders not be discounted for not stopping and sleeping under the stars? It's not really in the spirit of bikepacking is it?

Thanks to those who followed the tracking page. Glad I provided some entertainment for those not able to make it :)

Re: Bear Bones 200 Tracking Page
Well done to all who made the full distance, I decided to rename it the BB120 as that is all I managed, cut short at the end of the Elan valley and went into Rhayder for some hot food and got back into camp just before midnight.
Have uploaded my track to here:http://ridewithgps.com/users/58907/routes
Another great event organised by Stu and Dee, food this morning was great too.
I took a few photos on the route but there are hardly any other riders on them because they were mostly faster than me....
Photo's are here http://www.flickr.com/photos/30537475@N ... 907355960/ , I'm still uploading them so if there is not 30, have a look later.
Cheers
Mark

Re: Bear Bones 200 Tracking Page
Right then, firstly a big thank you to everyone who took part regardless of whether you finished or not ... obviously if there's no riders there's no ride, so thank you.
Thank you to Valleydaddy who was unable to ride due to injury but who gave up his weekend to come and help out, much appreciated ... also thank you to Markenduro for a helping hand with the worlds worse gazebo
There's still 3 riders out on course so I'll post a full list of times once I have the full list but a big well done to Ian and Kevin who have thrown the gauntlet down with a very impressive time ... they're the (hopefully) proud owners of the only two black BB 200 badges in circulation.
Lastly, a big thank you to flatfishy for his continuing support of the mid Wales hospitality industry :D

You are most welcome Stuart and of course Dee, the pair of you are brilliant giving up your time to run these events, it was interesting to see what goes into making this happen from a non-riders point of view.
Man, the 3 of us worked non-stop preparing stuff for when the riders returned on Sunday!!
Well done to Ian and Gavin truly magnificent effort sure, definitely the challenge is on for someone to beat their time
And to the rest of you who entered thevfirst BB200. Those badges were definately earnt for sure!
From the comments that I heard this is THE toughest MTB event in the UK :D
Good one Stuart
(the barra brith was lush too Matt)

Who's Gavin? ... has Ian got an imaginary friend?

Re: Bear Bones 200 Tracking Page
Thanks Stu & Dee* for the organisation and route planning. The event is first of its kind on these shores and one that will hopefully become a classic in future years. I think the course went together well, the bit I was looking forward to the least was surprisingly rideable even in the dark, though mentally I was pretty drained. Glad also there wasn't a sting in the tail either as the legs/ mind/ body were completely spent by the time we exited Hafren. As for the badges, yes very proud - thank you, it was a nice addition to the event.

Re: Bear Bones 200 Tracking Page
Truly humbling to ride at least part of the same course as those who managed to complete it, and especially to Ian and Kevin who not only rode it in an incredible time, didn't wake Simon and I as we slept just off the lane going north of Rhayader.
We decided to cut off over to Rhayader when it became clear that our tardy start and leisure pace meant that we would be finishing very late or even staying out two nights, had a bit of food, bumped into flatfishy and markenduro, had some food and a couple of pints then headed north five miles before finding a spot to kip.
Good work Stu and Dee, and well done for putting on something truly hard. I need to ride my bike a lot more before the next one!

Re: Bear Bones 200 Tracking Page
Well done Ian and Kev. Hats off for competing the route in that time.
I bailed a quarter of the way around, and cut the route short, but still pleased i managed 101k in a day. Next year though..

Just wanted to say thank you for a wonderful weekend out in the hills. Loved the route, a real slog at times, but great to go places I'd never been before. And thanks to Clive (and Jase) for pulling me round and the constant chat :)
