does anyone know of any hostels/bunkhouses down near afan as heading down for some mtbiking in jan for two nights?

This place looks a bit posh & isn't the cheapest, but it's supposed to be brilliant-

There's 30 of us booked to stay there in April & everyone thats stayed there before really recommends it..

Another vote for Afan Lodge.
Stayed there last year for the weekend. Great accomodation, secure underground bike storage and bike wash.
3 of shared a room (and the cost).
Great food, and you can cycle along the cycle path below the lodge to the nearby centres.
As I recall, the chef's brother rides Afan on a rigid singlespeed.....
