Works well enough. The last few versions have tapered washers that run against tapered slots on the inside of the drop-out, so in theory you don't require a chaintug ... sometimes they grip but not always, however using a back-up chaintug's not an issue.

I've had my slot drop-out for 3 years or so, it's been all over and covered lots of miles in all conditions ... I can't find fault at all. For the price they're a real bargain.

St8annorm thanks for info. I've not had an 29er before had ago on mates trek thingy :D

I've got the SS only one and it's a great bike. I replaced a Swift with it and certainly don't feel I've made a mistake. With the SS one and a normal QR I struggled without a chain tug.
