Kinder Scout Solo Bivvy.

In an effort to keep up my 'at least one bivvy trip per month 2011', the late heatwave forecast and a free overnight pass from the family it was hard to resist this week:D
Route- (Dark Peak District) 4pm Langsett CP-Cutgate-Winston Lee Tor-Win Hill-Jaggers Clough-Jacobs Ladder-Kinder-*11pm Bivvy*-Kinder Reservoir-Mount Famine-Roych Clough-Rushup Edge-Hope Cross-Jaggers Clough-Blackley Clough-Rowlee Farm-Lockerbrook Farm-Derwent Reservoir-Cutgate-Langsett CP 1pm.
55 very hot miles, 7600' ascent, not bad for a cheeky mid-weeker.
Langsett Reservoir in late afternoon sunshine-

Looking down over Ladybower Reservoir from Winstone Lee Tor-

New luggage hot off the sewing machine not a few hours earlier-

Sunrise up on Kinder, absolutely stunning start to the morning-

With that forecast, no tarp needed!

2 mins back on the bike and it was already phototime again, Edale Valley.......

...and from the other direction later in the morning, looking back up at the Kinder bivvy spot-

A quick and much needed refresh before the final climb of the trip-

It was an absolutely great close to what will probably be the last of the summer season. Roll on Autumn.
