Thinking of going for the kit on my car (as the wife's is without a spare tyre anyway, so I need to buy her a set regardless) and doing away with the spare tyre. Without getting into too much conflicting debates, does anyone have any thoughts on which is best at a low overall weight.

Not too worried about budget as long as it is a good kit! The one that is expired on my wifes car has a pump included, so I wonder whether I could somehow just top up the built in package and be away there!

The Mrs's car recently picked up a screw in the front tyre. I took it out, plugged it with my bike tubeless repair kit and reinflated it. It's been fine for a couple of weeks now

Lol... maybe that's my answer. In the Subaru Legacy 05 plate I had a few years ago (second newest car I ever owned) it only came with a tubeless HOLTS bottle and no spare tyre.

Had a puncture after leaving work but it was slow enough. Drove it slowly down to the petrol station. Popped the HOLTS tubeless bottle and let it foam in, then quickly did some air from the machine and drove off. After about 20 minutes, I stopped and topped up with my bike pump.

Worked lovely, though maybe I'm playing with fire trying to go that light!

Get a motorcycle tubeless repair kit Shaff. Genuine Innovations do one (which predates their cycle kit) it's the same but bigger. Or plenty on ebay for much cheapness. Used loads of times on cars and motorbikes.

I think that is what I'll aim to do....

There's car tyre spaff in Aldi at the moment.
The tyre place did say it's only a temporary thing, like for 100 miles.... but that could be tyre place blag.
I carry a can of it and a compressor. And a full size spare.
