Iv searched on here regarding this route but nothing comes up. Anyone ridden it and should I do it. Iv been looking at the wild argyll trail too and they are similar for some of the route. Either is my option for two weeks time

Just wondering if the 550 be a better option that’s all. Oh and what’s the nicest way to get to Helensburgh from Glasgow? Two options I think follow whw then hang a left into balloch or take the sustrans along the front into Dumbarton to balloch then trails n lanes to Helensburgh

Any advice is welcome though ta

I did a fair bit of the western half last year and it's great. I'd say more varied than the Argyll route. Phil C put it together, but he's busy trying to drag himself away from Contin stores around now on the HT550  .
This should work for the route: https://explore.osmaps.com/route/213127 ... re&type=2d
I started by parking at Garelochead stationed getting a train to Fort William. I did an extra loop around the NW of Mull, used the road from Dalavich (Loch Awe) and had a detour for a nosey around Dunadd and the Moine Mhor and then rode road via Crinnan and Lochgilphead to Achahoish. Brilliant few days on a gravel bike with 50mm tyres. If doing the full route, I'd take MTB.
