So to the ride, we (me 'n' my son Michael) rode south, down into Hafren..
Then down the Severn Way ...
..to the car park/toilets where an ice cream was had...
We had a quick look at the Severn Breaks its Neck, then south again where we encountered some difficulty with fallen trees...
We sawed and ducked over and under trunks and branches, but eventually it became too much and we fought our way downhill and around the end of the blockage until we could re-join the bridleway. Took us a good half hour to go a hundred yards.
Then almost to Llangurig before crossing the A44 and down south west to bivvy on the edge of the forest below Nant Rhys
The bivvy...
View from bed ...
Next morning, after breakfast, north, then west then south, to The Arch ...
... then north past Nantsyddion and down to Ponterwyd to the George Borrow for Sunday carvery and a couple of pints.
It was hard pedalling up hills with a belly-full of food restricting breathing, but we didn't have too far to go...
North, then, through Hengwm and Hyddgen to bivvy in Siambr Trawsfynydd. There was a bitingly cold wind making for uncomfortable cooking/eating so Mike built a windbreak with fallen trees and twigs from the forest floor so we could at least sit out for a while before going to bed.
Dinner. Batchelors Mac 'n' Cheese with a pack of ramen noodles and 8 spicy Peperami thrown in for good measure. Dun't look it, but surprisingly tasty and warming ...
The bivvy ...
With a bit of imagination, you can see on the horizon, a sleeping giant. I expect there's a local legend in there somewhere.

We didn't have far to go on the last day, so didn't rush packing up in the morning. Saw a few Boners puffing past.
North past Glaslyn and a look from the Vaughan Williams viewpoint before creeping down the track to Aberhosan. Still steep ...
... but not a scary as the Foel Fadian one.
Melinbyrhedyn, Ceulan forest and the end. I like to finish on the track above Stu's - a mile or so of downhill on tired legs is not to be sneezed at. Pity about the climb back to the car afterwards...
So another WRT over. Anticlimax! What next? its a hard act to follow. Reg? - I'm looking at you here...
