As above has anyone ever done it ?
I have looked on geograph but wondered if there was any real world view.

The only advice I've heard from those that have done it is...
don't!
Basically once you are out of the valley floor it's pretty much all hike-a-bike. I don't think I've seen it in any of the MTB loops and given that many of the central Lakes BWs that do feature in those rides are pretty techy it says a lot.

I did that BW in 1989. I recall pushing my bike most of the way up (from the Stonethwaite end) and then been somewhat peeved to have to push my bike most of the way down....
I got so annoyed I started trying to ride anything I could, just because. Didn't achieve much in terms of progress though!
