I’m struggling to find either 3/4 waterproof shorts (apart from the weird Altura ones) or 3/4 padded tights. Has anyone got any recommendations?

Go for full length waterproof trousers and cut 'em down?
I'm pretty sure Endura used to do some good ones, but they don't seem available any longer. I've their GV500 waterproof shorts which I thought were a bit longer than they appear in their catalog, but perhaps not.

I bought some of the cycling waterproof trousers from either Aldi or Lidl a few years ago, and cut them down. They've been surprisingly good.

I agree.
Love mine. Last ages and you'll appreciate spending less money long term and enjoying a garment feeling like a second skin.
Very highly recommended.

£225….

That’s £218 more than my most ridden bike originally cost…..

I quite like the Lidl / Aldi suggestion….

The Assos ones although expensive, are very good.
3/4 bibs are great in the Uk, I don't think many manufacturers make them though, the only other ones i know are by Gore & maybe Endura..

I presume if you shop around you should be able to beat makers list..

15 years ago I was a massive Assos Mille fan, but they got too expensive. More than R apha, and look what the forum swear filter thinks of them!
Castelli do some decent 3/4 bibs; my current ones are Entrata.
If you search for 3/4 bibs it looks like Gore, Sportfull, Alē all do 3/4 bibs as well.

Bib knickers (old school roadie term) brings up more options for me than 3/4
I have a pair of Morvelo bibs that have been decent,

Wow, for once stuff is cheaper in Switzerland... even domestic made usually is cheaper in other countries.
Yes, costly, but for once you do really get what you pay for.
I never got even half as much life out of other brands shorts/bibs. And all that time they work extremely well.
*thinks of his two Assos winter bibs (about worth a very crappy car together...), which he damaged with crashes and sharp pin strikes and Assos mended them for free*

I wonder what it'd be for Assos...

I've got a pair of Vaude Drop 3/4 overshorts. No idea if they'd be any good for you?
