North Wales Bikepacking Weekend 2025
Posted: Fri Jan 17, 2025 6:55 am
Hi,
Just posting to share my free event which is on August Bank Holiday every year. There are 3 route choices, all of which take in many of the best bits of riding in North Wales. A 400km and 300km technical MTB route, which includes a ride to the summit of Snowdon (at a time that's within the MTB agreement), trail centres and some remote stretches including hikeabike sections. There's also a 500km route that is less technical and can be gravel or MTB, which passes through some epic sections and links different riding areas together. These are all tough but fantastic routes.
The event has a group finish format which makes it a bit different. You pick your own start time and date and aim to finish late on Sunday or before 2pm on bank holiday Monday for a social get together at One Planet Adventure in Llandegla forest visitor centre, Badger (Ian) at One Planet supports the event and provides car parking.
If you're interested, entries are now open at https://www.tombrucecycling.com/north-wales-bikepacking. GPX files also available at that link.
Rob Waller's writeup of his ride on the 400 may whet your appetite (the time limit from the 2023 edition is now no longer a thing, riders can take as long as they want this year).
