Evening All
So after my tyre coming off my rim on the ride home from work tonight. ( Having to call the wife to collect me just as she was about to head out for a gym class) Don't ask.
I just want to know if any one has one they would like to sell on. Don't fancy getting a new one as I only use them about 4 days a year. 700c 35c or 40 c would be amazing.
Thanks in advance
Stu

Me and Tony were just talking about these today. What ones do you have pls Stu. I've got a commute on Friday and going by bike. But meeting black ice on my gravel tyres doesn't sound too much fun.
Have got Tons (Tony) help to make a route that's traffic-free enough but also trodden well enough by cars to have cleaner/icw free roads (of that makes sense). I'm thinking the Ice-Spike by Conti. Is that the ones that derimmed off your wheels there Stu!
I believe there's also tubeless versions but I just can't find any in a 30c x 700!! Anyway, hope you manage to source some Stu.

Cheers Phil

The ones I have got are the same as the ones Phil sent the link for. I was my fault really. A part of my wire bead popped out and gave me a flat, so I pulled the wire out in frustration. Then low and behold a mile later if it pops of the rim. They are about ten years old to be fair. They work amazingly, I have been on sheet ice with them and just kept peddling.
Off to order one. I will report back with a delivery update.
Thanks again Phil.

Thanks Phil and Stu. Yeah, I think I'll have to order a couple of them (in the 30c flavour) or some Conti equivalents. Seems like the tubeless versions are likely hens teeth! Especially in 700 x 32c or thinner!
Getting sick of being afraid to ride in the, well, sheet ice!

Ok so it's £18.99 all in with 48 HR postage so I don't think you will get them for Friday. But I would grab a pair as if you have to ride in the ice they work so well. Also you don't loose to much in speed ( it's not like I go that fast in the first place

).
Take it easy and big shout out to Phil....

Keep on rolling.
Stu

Careful with those banana industries ones. 700b isn't 700c

Ah, didn't spot that - wot's 700b then?
They have a good returns policy
£30 a tyre seems the next best deal....

I've found some Conti Contact Spike 120 700c x 32c at £32 on BikeInn. I'll probably buy and have for the next times the ice comes in. This explains 700c

Stu. Have you thought about the Top Contact Winter Premium. Added advantage that they're tubeless too and without spikes...

BCC seems to agree with the concept

I've just messaged the client I'm going to jab tomorrow (not a Mohammed Ali jab), asking if I could come a couple hours later to reduce risk of ice-slips at 0800. I'll just take the Gravel tyres as I'm not in Wales and they are very grippy

Who needs a rear brake Stu. Saves cost in the long run (so long as you don't need to use any special NHS services)

Rodger that.
We will have to keep a look out in march

.
Good luck tomorrow. Do you get on some kind of NHS quick list if you fall off tomorrow

If I fall off, they say, 'we told you so'. Always get them smiles of, 'you cycled from where' from colleagues usually. But in the back of the head I know they're thinking, 'what an effin idiot'.
