NAWE 2025 organisation thread

Can't recall the specifics, so will copy it across from last year's event. Basically, it stands for NOT Another Winter Event.

You give me some grid refs and I give em someone else. Some nice person will help join people together and then you just coordinate with one another and send across grid refs as per the riders specifications - it is Bearbones after all, so specs don't include 'no ford's and bogs, sorry' - like how far you'd like to venture out and from where.

Erm... Who's in Pls.

Format same as last year, ie.

1. Put your name down, where you're (riding) from & availability dates.
2. You'll get paired up and just suggest to your pair what area you want your grid refs.
3. Go ride it and report back.
4. Try best to keep it local (that's the whole point) as in, ride from your doorstep.
5. Sleeping in your own garden or shed is allowed, but not in the house (if you do, just don't tell us and make some 'improviso' without fibbing).
6. Not mandatory, but I always find a financial commitment always helps the mindset - so £20 to the Food For Gambia Spot Project here if you so wish/can!

First years event reports are here and the original version dreamt up by Jon is here

Don't think I'll manage this time, as have entered BB Winter event and Winter Jennride. Happy to set someone some GRs if you get an odd number or whatever.

Either Cath or myself might be up for this Shaf - see the "New addition" thread for why it's one or the other.

Yes, I saw that Bob. Even though I'm not really a dog person, congrats and we'll done rescue the little flap eared one. Yes, I'll pop your/Caths name on the list. Do I put Skipton or something like that!

Just to add this again (sorry, I forgot). Entirely optional off course but good to do our bit, so, entry fee £20 straight to the SPOT Project if you so wish https://spotproject.org/

Guess I better do mine too - done (as soon as I finish this message). Shall we call it first 2 weeks of Feb or the whole month. Flexibility is definitely a good thing right

Very good show. Makes sense. If everyone just picks the name below them and makes contact to request grid references inside their chosen OS grid area :-bd

This is getting easier. My grid is gonna be so small, but points requested a bit bigger

So if Gecko requests his ref points from Lazarus and Lazarus from Shafiq. I'll get mine from Phil of Scawtland.. Obviously Bob/Cath just go back to the start of the list if they're playing

You did, and it was very well done at that.

So, I'll request mine from Bob/Kath, and in turn I'll give GRs to...Lazarus? Or Shaf? I'm Scawtland too btw, and thinking of East Lothian and/or the Lammermuirs this time.

Err so whose doing mine then? It was meant to be Bob wasnt it?

I think the list is now meant to look like:

Gecko76
Bob (or Cath) - Skipton
Lazarus - Chorley
Shafiq - Dewsbury
Bikepackingphil - erm, Scawtland

So you'll get yours from Gecko (I think :???: )

Thanks, I was getting confused. I did Phil's last year as it happens, but can mix it up a bit.

Thanks Bob. Sorry, I was almost getting confused myself. But reread it and it seems legit. There's only 5/7 of us so how confusing could it get.

I'll say it again cos it's the best instructions I've put in words this year :-bd
