Apparently only 40 in the world and they have to go 100 miles between water fill up points. Reminded me of the bear in the BB badges

Re: Worlds loneliest bear (cub)!
I would have wrestled a Gobi Bear for water at the top of Javalambre earlier this year on the Montanas Vacias...

Not sure what it is in miles. But the Spar next to this one (which means it's about 7km closer) in Russia. Leads you to the very top of the Gobi to that there Monastery. I plotted the walking route but not sure the Gobi Bear would walk that slowly.belugabob wrote: ↑Sat Dec 21, 2024 11:24 pmHow far between Spars?redefined_cycles wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 12:51 pm Apparently only 40 in the world and they have to go 100 miles between water fill up points. Spars are all over, who'd have thought. I even used one the other day on the WYCR

So rarely seen, I’ve seen them twice this week
Shaf, I mentioned Gordon Buchanan previously but he’s just done a camel trekking program in the Gobi and went to see if he could see these bears. Worth watching

Indeed. So they're not as lonely as we think and alot tougher than needing water any sooner than 100 milesMuddyPete wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2024 9:47 pmIndeed: so once they find the oasis, why do they leave?redefined_cycles wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 12:51 pm Apparently only 40 in the world and they have to go 100 miles between water fill up points.![]()
