Exposure lights remote control: waterproof??

Hi All,
I've got an exposure strada which I'm using on my gravel bike/commuter.
It's mounted underneath the GPS mount, which is "good" as it leaves the bars uncluttered but the light button is hard to reach and clashes with the gear and brake cables. That makes operating the light quite tricky. I commute along a canal path and like to have the light at full blast to spot those pesky dogs jumping out of nowhere, but I don't want to blind incoming cyclists.
Mounting the light on the handlebar would require also relocating the GPS as they would clash, and I'd like to avoid that.
I remembered the light comes with a remote which I never used before. That seems to solve the problem but I'm a bit anxious about the waterproofness of the remote-light connection.
Does anyone have positive/negative experiences with it?
