Bikepacking Bursary - a silly idea?

*** this is obviously linked with Tor Divide. If that's considered spam please edit/relocate/remove this post ***
I know first hand that taking up something like the first bikepacking trip or a challenge like Tor Divide can feel intimidating, especially when new to cycling, and I want to demonstrate that anyone can give bikepacking a go.
We're launching a bursary scheme at Tor Divide with the intent to to support 2 people in the lead up to the event, and promote bikepacking.
The Tor Divide Bursary is open to individuals:
- Resident in the UK;
- Aged 16 or over;
- With a maximum annual gross income of £23,000;
- Who have not already taken part to Tor Divide;
- Who own an off-road capable bike (e.g. MTB, gravel bike).
2 successful applicants will receive:
- an entry to Tor Divide 2025 and advice about the event;
- a bikefit with Peak_Bikefitting (Sheffield);
- coaching and training advice from Acier.cc (remotely);
- a pair of Schwalbe to get them rolling over any terrain.
I can't make any promises, but I hope as more brands come on board we will be able to offer even more support.
Applications close on the 22nd November!
If you know a cycling brand, bike shop in the Peak, cycling group or just someone who would like to support this initiative, get in touch!
If you know anyone who would be the perfect candidate, please share this with them!
