How tall are you and what length TT does your crosser / drop bar tourer have?

I've a choice of 2 frames.

1/ TT 540mm ST 490mm

2/ TT 555mm ST 520mm

Me - a 5'7" giant with long legs (if you can have long legs at 5'7") and shorter top half. I always run smallish MTB frames so I can have a short TT and obviously plenty of seatpost showing :?

What would you suggest?

I have an one on dirty disco small frame 525mm TT. My giant full suss 26er is 570mm TT.

They have the same distance between seat and where my hands spend most of their time (hoods on the drop bars)

I'm 5'9" and also a longer legged person. I'm happy with how both bikes fit but if being super fussy sometimes feel that the CX could be bigger and mtb smaller! But I don't mind that they are not!

I think I'd go with the smaller of those

I'm 5ft 10 to 11

I have a taller upper body compared to most, so can generally get a slightly larger frame.

I'd go for whichever one doesn't have any toe overlap with the front wheel.

Pinnacle eh. May be able to help ) seat angle may be important here. Pinnacles generally the same through the range so if it's 2 sizes of the same bike I'd say go for the larger one to get the right saddle - bar drop. The smaller frame may have a temptingly shorter reach but by the time you get the saddle height and set back right, the bar may be too low or need 50mm of spacers. Better to keep the taller head tube and longer front-centre, then take 10-15mm off the stem and / or use an inline post (as you may want to to get your c of g centred if you're long leg / shorter body), than be too low over the front and get sore hands / wrists.
Having said all that, the smaller of the 2 may have the right head tube length anyway. If I knew your inside leg I could have a guess but you'll know what fits you, what saddle-bar drop works etc.

I'm 5'8" plus a little, my Jake was 543 TT and my Pompino was 541. Both gone now but my road bike is 545 with a 110 stem but running Midge bars which don't have much extension and also has a much steeper seat angle.

I'd have thought this one TT 540mm ST 490mm with a nice long seatpost as I would never consider any drop barred bike over 545*

For comparison I also ride a 16" inbred with a 70mm stem and plenty of seatpost

I'm fairly much the same size as you Stu,

When i got the Crox de Fer I tried both the 54' and 52' frames and both fitted fine and no issues with toe overlap. Once i'd raised the seat on the 52' the effective TT as exactly the same as the 54' .

In the end i went for the smaller frame. With the seat post extended theres plenty of room for any seat pack to be mounted and more room for my plums, during offroad dismounting duties

Well after measuring up my SS (drop bars) and playing around with positions, it looks like the smaller frame will be the one.
