which must mean I'm one of those stupid people that's part of this evil social experiment. Don't forget to read the email in it's entirety pls everybody and to park close together on the (flippin) day.

Right, back to reading before opening the attached route. As you was!

'Trust your gps, some tracks might be on your map but not on the ground, and visa versa. Love that one, lol (all the way to the asylum).

Is that the 2014 trackless tussock yomp over to Coed Y Brenin I see, in the dark this time? :-bd

Edit: Just checked and no, it stays on the decent forestry track. You're getting too soft Stu.

Aye, things just got real.

I'll thank you Dee and Stu now, while the actual experience remains nowt more than a lovely looking line on a map.

And no spoilers, but I guess this may make things convenient …

I did see that but couldnt quite work out if/where there's a fountain from gmaps.
Forgive my ignorance (never been to a cemetery in the uk) but I assume any cemetery will have a (drinkable) water tap?

Route looks really good.

I was thinking more to lay me to rest, Valerio! And no, I'd not assume, but sometimes for sure.

VERY interesting stretch between 200 and 207km on the 300

Is that the highest we've ever been on one of these Stu?

Probably by a small margin.

I'll have to make sure I'm fully awake at the start otherwise I might be doing an "In Reverse."

Nah. I've tried that a few times now. Can confirm that they don't all have taps never mind drinking water. 2 I found without a tap at all. Also, our local one, last time I went for a fill up had a sign saying 'not drinking'. I took it anyway and it tasted a bit salty.

Well I'm nearly out of excuses. I did a decent ride today including a 700m climb, plenty of rough, grassy trails, some bog and some tussocks. There wasn't anything other a few aches from my bashed in rib and the legs seemed happy to do the work.

Dare I say it, but the route looks pretty damn good, eye-watering ascent total aside, with plenty of re-supply and some good trails. No Bwylch i Sarnau cafe but no Strata Florida :-bd

So all systems go from my side, I just need to get digs for the Friday night.

At first glance it looks great... I'm sure there's some sneaky extra tough/rough sections there but not needing a snorkel for SF has made my day! That and the potential food stops

I emailed Pauline to cancel my room at the Wynnstay, so there might b one going there. Given how infrequently she seems to check her email, she might not even realise I cancelled... 😬

I hear that Pauline at the Wynnstay has stopped doing evening meals.
Need to find a new pub with rooms before The Winter Event and the WRT in 2025

I'll be at the Wynnstay the night before. Planning on eating at The Aleppo before heading down there.

Assuming that there's no secrecy around the route this year...

I sent an enquiry about food service times to the Red Lion, just shy of 150km (200km route). Prompt response received and assured that although the kitchen usually closes at 8:30pm, the landlady (I presume) will try and make something if I'm a little bit late.

A fairly ambitious target but it's a target

My bike is packed apart from some of the food so unless I can think of a really good excuse I will see you all at the pub on Friday.

Is it alright to stay overnight in the carpark on the corner does anyone know?

Tim.

Opposite the pub? Fairly common practice.
