Pied d'elephant quilt from old jacket

Made my old down jacket with a bust zip into a kind of quilt-style pied d'elephant to use in conjunction with my new down jacket to top up my summer bag. The whole thing is a bit more flexible than my winter bag which is only half zip, which will be good for the TNR next week where the temperature could vary quite widely with altitude.

One of those rare projects that was easier than I thought - took about an hour and a half all in.

It certainly won't do wrong to anyone...

 Dave

Started making them into to some fetching over-Croc foot warmers, but got stuck for motivation and something to trim them with. May yet see the light of day.

Surely, they get used as arm warmers?
I read this and immediately though of an old Berghaus down jacket I have which is too bulky for bikepacking and not really warm enough anyway. Then realised it doesn't have a hood...

Far too obvious

You could make a hood out of Wind's cast-off sleeves :-bd
