A small world

With a bit of a dodgy forecast* I decided to go for a walk to pick up some VeloViewer squares above Gisburn Forest that are on the edge of my max square and ticking them off would bump that up a bit.

Neither are legally accessible by bike but the first would have just been hike-a-bile there and back regardless. Maybe after a sustained hard frost and a light snow cover you'd have managed it on a fat bike. Proper heather and bog bashing! The second would have been mostly rideable but there were "sunken" bits.

Back at the car and a big Landcruiser type vehicle pulls up and the guy winds down the window and begins to chat. I thought it was one of the local farmers but the accent soon dispelled that idea. He was from Mid-Wales, near Welshpool. I mentioned we'd often go down to Llanbrynmair. "Oh! I was born there." A bit more chatting and it turns out he was actually born at the next farm up the valley from BB Towers. A bit of searching and it's this chap - https://www.hallsgb.com/halls-auctionee ... tion-sale/

He was the only person I saw whilst out - just what are the chances of meeting someone with that back story?

*The heavens opened about a minute before I got back home.

Looks like his herd of blue sold for £81k last year Bob. Well done that man and thanks for sharing. I (kind of) love it when there's no one to be seen for miles but then there comes a point when it becomes rather lonely.

Does he live local to you now Bob or was he just passing/hiking by.
