Garmin 830 and rain.

I've had my 830 for a few years now. It's been really good, reliable, will last two long days.

Until it rains. Then the screen is completely poor show and I wish I'd bought the 530.

According to the reviews one fix would be to get a 840. But I have just seen this as an option. A garmin remote.

Still not cheap at £60 but cheaper than an 840.

Has anyone tried one?

I've got a 530 and a couple of Garmin remotes on bikes after I saw Luke mention them a few years ago on here.

They work great, I especially like that you can set a button to bring you back to the map screen with one press from any other screen / menu.

If you're not in a hurry they come up on eBay for about £15-20.

I’ve also got an 830 and never had any issues with the screen in the rain (it’s seen a lot of rain also)

I've been completely unable to transition back to buttons from touchscreen after not far off ten years of 810 and 830. It absolutely does my nut in using my 530 now

Be careful what you wish for Bill...
