After trying the Lakeland 300 in March 2020 just before the pandemic with Steve Waters, i knew i had unfinished business with the loop as we had to bail as we ran out of time and had bad weather.
So when i signed up for Jenn Ride a few months ago i bought a weekend pass to go riding. As the event came closer i started thinking back to last years HT550 and how i loved the racing. With no race this year i quickly set about ditching the Jenn Ride in leui of a ITT on the Lakeland 300.
I set off on sat morning at 645 from Pooley Bridge and returned back 19hours and 55min later...with a new FKT.

Wow. Well done Alex. That's ace mate... You manage to get any pics of strava it (just to add some kudos to the ride). Wish I was half as fast

Bit more effort and you could have got an everest in
How you can do nearly 10 mph for 300 km is something i will never know.
Chapeau

Excellent effort, very impressive
Also impressed with your ‘stop time’ too, ~45mins stopped in ~20 hours

Amazing how you can do this getting KOMs and PBs on a sunny bank holiday weekend in the LDNP without any conflict with other trail users
Mad skills/fitness

The only area where any sort of conflict could have arisen was around Esthwaite Water which was very busy. This section did take care and consideration for other users as it was very busy. The rest of the route was very quiet bar the overlap with Jenn Riders going in the opposite direction.
The KOM was at the start of the route up High Street at 645am so no issues there!

I'm sure you told me you wouldn't bother doing this route again.
