The fatoldman abanodoned his bike and went camping and walking in Wasdale. I took my favourite Whitebox meths stove (available from backpackinglight) which lives in my titanium cooking pot. first brew tasted vile: of meths. had to wash out the pot before second go. maybe better to keep meths stoves away from the cooking pots.
I would sytrongly recommend the NT campsite in Wasdale, and the Wasdale head Inn which is a short walk away.

The only time I have been to Wasdale was at 5am riding the c2c with the scary prospect of a mahoosive hikeabike, alone, up to Styhead then over to Rosset Pike fully loaded with 5 days of kit and food, having only been to the lakes once before and with no idea what to expect!!
