More of a headsup and would have described it as off-topic. But it's a proper bikers car. I've been to Bearbones and managed to sleep next to my bike with this (or the Legacy I had before it, same internal space).
I've put it up so cheap as I want a quick sale on it but I usually try to aim to make my cars better over my ownershop rather than more worn. Hence almost everything that needed doing has been done and cos I got it at 120,000 there was quite a few bearing sthat needed doing. Oil and filter were done on average twice per year (I drive alot for work) and the tranamission fluid was renewed more than the actualmain dealers would have done - it's a 9l box but only drains 3L at a time.
Only thing that had recently started annoying me (now that most or all the mechanical atuff had been done) was the condensation inside the drivers headlight. Probably due to the seals perishing but lights work fine. Seems to have had a ding by the previous farmer at some point. I'm the second owner and the previous farmer chap (I extrapolated that info by back-reading into it) seems to have just kept it as his 'do everything, lets not look after it' car. After all, it's a H6 (flat 6 cyclinder) 3.0 engine. Legendary and drives like new (almost).
When taking a sharp turn in the road you get a little scraping. This came about recently after I had the tires renewed so I put it down to three things. Could be the exhaust heat shield which I didn't allow the mechanic to pull off and chuck away. Could be the metal heat shields aroudn the disc which are both rusted through but caused me a problem - brakes are the big ones from my Spec B H6 before it and all serviced including the seals - or it could and most likely be that I'm actually running slightly bigger wheels om it as these were also imported across from my Spec B before.
Sorry for too much info. Not cheap to run in terms of fuel efficiency but the reliabilty more than makes up for it and (IMO) becomes cheaper to run as there's nil unexpected garage visits. The thing about the ELM I mentioned in the listing was for compeleteness of info as I'm not allows to oversell and the lights currently off and not caused me any probs at all. Richard Henry (Subaru Specialist) also never thought it an issue after turning off the code last time with his diagnostics thing (independent specialist so doesn't have same computer as the main dealers). He just told me to go and have it reprogrammed to delete the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) off the brain (ecu).
Sorry for too much info. Just don't want someone getting it off there for super cheap and thinking their doing me a favour at that low price. Rather (and hope) someone here can take it and my haed earned cash sorting lots of things will go more appreciated. It's great for bikes too
