Morning all!

In have the brilliant bicycle 7 tarp and its great, easily sheltered thev3 of us one the WRT, but for just little old me (literally, I'm not tall...) I'm after something smaller, well, lighter is the priority really but size is going to reduce in line with that.

Whilst weight is the key component, versatility and reasonably robust (in thinking not having to "over care" for it here) are high on the list too.

At the moment I'm favouring the Integral Designs SilTarp http://www.ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk/ ... ltarp.html

Anything else I should have a look at?

Siltarp1 is 'just' useable in bad weather. If it's a flat tarp you're after then either that or a TN Comp tarp 1 would be a safe bet. If you're looking for something a little different with quite a bit of protection, then a RAB (used to be integral Designs) Element 1 could be worth a look.

TN comp 1 is £10 cheaper than the Siltarp but only has 8 tie out points and no central one if that helps.

On the TN Comp 1 tarp, on the TN site, it says it has a central loop? Is this not the case on the tarps then or it is a newer addition to the model?

Hi Welshwit, on their site I can't see where it say's the comp 1 has a central tie out, maybe i'm just looking in the wrong place. The diagram of the comp 2 shows a central tie out but the diagram of the comp 1 does not. Mine is 18 months old and doesn't have one.

I've got an older MSR E-wing, which admittedly I've not used in anger much. It's about the right size for what you're after and is made of silnylon type material. I'll weigh it later on if you want.

Oddly I've been looking to pick up and larger and probably heavier Rig7 but there out of stock. However, if I wanted a small light weight number for far less ££ I'd maybe go for one of these off Fleabay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lightweight-S ... 48563187e7

Failing the Rig7 coming back in stock (or you selling me yours ) I've decided to make my own with some silicone coated lightweight ripstop nylon. I'm taking the "how hard can it be" approach but it could well end up looking like a pigs ear. :?
