Komoot!!

Right, can you plot a route without setting a final destination?

I’m having trouble, so you have to plot your start point and your final (or mid point on a circular ride). Nice and easy, it picks the route for you!

However, I want to include some roads/tracks that aren’t included on the set route, so I click on these sections to include certain points. So far, so good, but then it starts jumping around and diverts the route away from where I want to be.

So in short, can I poly a route by clicking on the start point, then the mid points and then the destination rather than start, destination then the mid points?

Yes.
1) Add your start point
2) Add your first midpoint as your destination
3) Add your next midpoint as a new destination
Repeat step 3 until finished.

Got it :-bd Think I was getting bogged down with the term ‘destination’

Also worth stating that Komoot works from grid references, use a site to convert OS references to grid references and all checkpoints can easily get plotted.
Also easy in Komoot to move the order of the separate points to re-Route accordingly.

Last question!!

I’m doing a figure of 9 ride, so I’ve gone out from the bottom of the 9, looped round and I need to go back on myself, how do I do that?

It’s the red section on the map that I need to set the route back home

Nice! Big chunks of the wirral way ?

I've never used Komoot for mapping and planning routes. I've always found that anything that tries to "help", just cocks things up. I use BikeHike course creator.
I know that's no use at all... but still...

I did think of bike hike but was hoping to do everything on my phone to make the GPX transfer quicker.

Yep, lots of the Wirral way and the sections around Thornton Hough/Brimstage/Landicon are really nice too. Don’t need mapping for this route but might as well learn how to use it :-bd

I think if you go back to the start point A, and click on it, it should give you an option for Round Trip. Point B (your current endpoint) should then become the penultimate waypoint.

Cheers. Clicking on point A didn’t work but clicking just by it did :-bd
