What mags do you read?

Just wondering what, if any magazines people read on a regular basis, say 2 out of 3 issues? I know there's plenty more to go at but considered these the more mainstream titles.

None. With the availability of decent stuff on t'internet I tend to stick to that. Blogs mostly as I prefer hearing real users experiences. Forums (like this one, STW, Trail Scotland) and the occasional online mag like Scottish Walking/Scottish Cycling for some route ideas is about it.

I tend to buy a mixture. Subscribe to Privateer and Singletrack. Get MBR more often than not and occasionally WMB, Trail and TGO depending on what articles are in them. I spend most lunchtimes in WHSmith though so shop read wherever possible.
XXC mag too when it's running.
I don't really watch much TV so spend a lot of the time in the evenings reading.
I find that magazines tend to run in 12 month cycles in terms of features "completing your first event, how to nail corners, Mont Blanc for beginners etc etc" so stop buying them when things get stale.
Privateer and Singletrack normally avoid the usual consumer advice, hence the subscription.

i used to read STW and WMTB but to be honest since the kids have come along this is one of the areas I've cut back on. Not buying magazines costing upwards of £5 each makes a big difference when trying to justify buying kit etc. especially since I'm still quite new to bikepacking so I've had to start from scratch with assembling all my kit.

Only STW & Privateer now. Perhaps I'm an old fart now but the other mags seem so superficial, or even plain wrong. I just get grumpy when they ignore or give up on my emailed comments. (Looking at you WMB).

I read WMB & MBUK when it was 25 quid for the year but the articles were repetitive, the stickers and free gifts just a waste of plastic!

MBR and Singletrack.

S'funny but I don't like a lot of Singletrack's output and prefer MBR most of the time. What keeps me coming back to Singletrack is the occassional message that just hits spot on, like Chipp's editorial about there being no "them" in trail maintenance or Dave's articles about access or bike&bivi.

Hey, each to their own and they're clearly doing something OK to have existed so long and grown. The forum I could happily douse in petrol and toss in the proverbial match ;)

Grew up reading MBUK since the age of 12. Still occasionally pick it up to read on the train... Usually then wonder why I bothered 30mins later.

I'm biased, but Singletrack is one of the few magazines that I'll more often than not read the whole contents. Privateer has some excellent writing in, but sometimes just fails to inspire me. Not enough writing about actual riding a lot of the time. The history of biking interests me, but I don't always want to read a long article on it.

Also occasionally buy Switchback - American mag, usually ok.

Also enjoy Rouleur for road stuff, and the Ride Journal is just brilliant... Love the art work and the diversity of subject matter.

None. Why, because they are too expensive, run too many adds, have too many high end bikes , constantly repeat themselves and lastly I see stuff that I think I would like to buy because it would make my outdoor experiences better when in reality there is nothing wrong with the gear I've got.

Now, I like new kit as much as the next person but you're absolutely right Ray. I think after a very short period of buying / collecting, then knowledge and skill play a far bigger part in increasing your enjoyment.
