Anybody know about Santa Cruz sizing?

Post by FLV »

I'm considering a short travel suspension 29er bu seem to be in between sizes.

Anybody any advice? I'm a shade under 5'11" with a 32 leg.
Normally I ride a 18" bike with 23.5" tt

Looks like I'm in between so any experience would be appreciated ta

I'm not dissimilar size size to yourself. I ride "large" frames (Specialized/Salsa/Singular). My Spearfish is a smidge larger than my mates large Tallboy.

On the subject of short travel 29ers Charlie TBM & Triton cycles were knocking out complete spearfishes for £1300ish (£800 off!). I bought one as my medium Spearfish was a tad small. The fella I sold it to has had to sell up his bikes through illness so there's a medium available on STW.... :)

Not a 29er but my Blur XC is a medium and I'm 5'7". If it was any smaller, I'd be hitting my knees off the bars. AFAIK, Santa Cruz are usually a bit short in the top tube.

Cheers for that, I think ill be looking at either a superlight 29 in larger or a spearfish in med.

I'm erring towards the santacruz as I always fancied one of them there superlights.

I was about to cross post the link to the 'fish but saw you've already found it! I can confirm the shock is nearly brand new. I swapped them as the original had been tweaked!

It's been up Snowdon:

But mostly ridden around East Anglian woods!
