Before I go and buy a new one, as everyone upgrades, changes kit regularly does anyone have a Alpkit Hunka XL they want to part with???
Could trade a little used regular Hunka in red if you want to save some grammage??
Can collect/swap at the BB200 if Stu wants me as an assistant that is

Depends what you want it to do Pete ... An alpine style bag (total coverage) will often be bigger and have more room than a 'sleeping bag cover' type bag. There's often enough room to store a bit of kit in there with you.
Depending what you want to spend the Rab eVent bags are good, these Vaude bags don't look bad value though.

Stuart to be honest I just want a bit more room as the hunka is a tad slim for larger lads

I bought a Rab storm a few weeks ago - I was a bit concerned that my winter Rab bag wouldn't have space to loft in the Survival Zone I have but ther's plenty of room in the Storm. I had it in a Go Outdoors sale for@£40 - can't say if it's any better than an xl hunka though.
How much do you want for your Hunka?

I don't know Steve just playing with the idea of getting a larger size one, guess around £20 as the are £30 new
just thinking I need more loft room for the winter Mach and back bivvy,if I can make it that is.
got to get over this kit addiction

army goretex ones are bigger. and cheaper. they are weighty but some of that weight is from the size. check ebay/ your local surplus store. can be picked up for around £10-15.
seach ebay for goretex bivvy... :)

Nothing like a little peer pressure to make a sale, is there :)

indeed still unsure what one to get, as seem to buy stuff and then think if only I'd thought about it I would have bought a different one.
tempted by Ian's suggestion if I am honest as it's really light but then the size maybe too nippy for me???

Hunka 'Rotund' is good because....
It's bigger, it makes a big difference over a standard Hunka
(I fit in, I have my mat on the inside, I can keep a lot of my stuff in with me and there is still plenty of wriggle room)
It's cheap
(well it is)
It's very waterproof
(I turned mine inside out and filled it with a hose pipe to test, it was very heavy but didn't leak)
Downsides....
Slug attack! (it lacks a mosi / insect net type affair)
A touch bulky, but you have to be splitting hairs and if you want a bigger bag it will be erm... bigger
In the real heavy rain of the WRT it didn't breathe 100% but I think the rain on the outside would have buggered any 'breathable' fabric
I like mine and feel no real need to change / upgraded it (although I may alter it using velco and a mosi net)
