Any recommendations for general use hands free magnifiers with led lighting? My eyes are now rubbish for close up work and Varifocals don’t help as I have to lean my head back to try and get close enough to what I am trying to do.
I have seen a few on the interweb and read reviews but nothing like other peoples experiences and things to look out for/avoid.
Specification in no particular order would be general use not fixed workbench so variable distance. Think derailleur adjustment/alignment or even just threading a needle.
Perhaps two lens mounting for custom setting?
Led lighting.
Adjustable headband not arms as they look like they grip too tightly.
If worn over glasses then a flip up design.
£25 ish.

No recommendations, but I just use a pair of cheapo £2 general reading glasses from the chemist. +1 for reading, +2 for close up stuff with fiddly screws sometimes with a head torch. I only need them for close up or reading small print/faint print, don't need glasses for general life.

I need this as well. I am struggling to see circuit boards close up when soldering and reading glasses don't do it for me

You get proper soldering ones with a base and lights and holder for the soldering iron ( mine is an Aldi one )

I need to use it in lots of different situations from up a ladder trying to get the screws back in a bulkhead light or in the garden raking out hair like roots of Bonsai Azalea as well as fixing things round the house.

I was recommended one of these, although as a glasses wearer, I'm a bit sceptical...

I have used a good one from RS that was about £50 and gave 3x, I can't find it now though. It was a few years ago, they may have discontinued it.

I lift my varifocals up. Same as tipping your head back...

I have an illuminated hand held magnify glass, similar to the one below.
I used it mainly for navigation at sea, but being hand held, it was not always convenient, especially when the yacht is heeled over.
My better solution nowadays is a cheap pair of reading glasses that are a little stronger than the opticians prescription and a head torch.
I find this good for navigation as well as fiddling with the bike.
