Another MYOG bar harness...

I've used this simple strap system for few years now on various bikes. It's;

Simple and cheap to make.
Very stable.
Keeps drybag off headtube/levers
Allows free passage of cables.
Lightweight circa 70g

Drybag obviously straps into the loop!

It uses 1.5m 25mm webbing (more depending on size of drybag you intend to use), 2 HD ladderlocks, 2 side release buckles and 2 triglide buckles. Hopefully you can see from pics how it's assembled, the triglide buckles allow you to position the bag holding strap at the correct height above the crown, you could in theory sew this piece on instead, but I prefer the flexibility of using it on different bikes.

To add stability for larger bags, you can spread the straps apart on the handlebars, a couple of zipties will help keep them from slipping back in. Often gps/light brackets will have a similar effect.

Hope it's of use to someone,

Anthony

Pointnorth aka profabrics are the best but you can find cheaper if you shop around.

The ladderlocks are the heavy duty ones (well worth it as they take quite a lot of tension), the side release buckles are the lightweight ones (they look nice!), webbing is 25mm herringbone iirc (feels silky smooth but I've had no issues with slippage, it's also lighter).

You might be able to see I wrap the straps around the fork leg once at the crown (not actually on the stanchion mind!) to keep the Lh/Rh straps nicely apart which aids stability once the dry bag is in.

Good job - I'd meant to do something like this for our SUW trip a few weeks ago but ended up up just strapping the drybag to the bars with 2 normal straps.
