
Volunteer trail building has been a bit of a passion of mine for, well, quite a long time. Whilst I get namechecked a bit what is really great is the exposure for the volunteer group I'm involved in, SingletrAction, and the positive way volunteering and trail development are presented by the writer. If more people did a little then trails could come on a lot faster and better, IMO. (Not a guilt trip, just a call to anyone with either curiousity or inclination.)
The situation with co-ordination and unity of volunteer builders / trail advocates is a constant bugbear as well. Anyone ever heard of IMBA UK, nevermind dealt with them? CTC can be a bit corporate at time but I've put that down to them needing to exist and persist. THe article seems to be a bit of a stage-setter for them being the umbrella group for volunteers to replace IMBA UK.
